INNSWORTH LODGE LADIES’ FUNCTION – TEA M’LADY?

On the 8th of June, the Worshipful Master of Innsworth Lodge and his wife (Bryan Roberts and Belinda) organised a Ladies’ Afternoon Tea-party for the Brethren of Innsworth Lodge and their Ladies. The function was held at the Bowden Hall Hotel in Upton St Leonards. After the welcome glass of Prosecco, the selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones with jam and clotted cream, provided by the hotel, went down well with the 43 attendees!

The Tea-party was the inspiration of Belinda Roberts and Debby Collins and, not only the “inner man” was attended to. The WM had commissioned a picture quiz and a “make you think” quiz from Bro Jim Jones – who, unfortunately could not be there on the day.

The tea, of course, was served in porcelain cups; Belinda Roberts had trawled charity shops to find them especially for the occasion. The WM, who spends a lot of time in China (working hard he claims) dreamed up the presents for the ladies in Hong Kong; they were actually resourced in the UK – in this he was well-guided by Belinda.

The inevitable Raffle, organized by the Charity Steward – with “unbelievable prizes” supplemented by the Brethren – raised a respectable £125 for Charity, and this has been credited to the Innsworth Lodge Relief Chest for allocation to Charities approved by the Lodge in the future.
